WHY BATH IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE
It’s no surprise that Bath continues to be voted one of the best places to live in the UK, and it’s also no surprise that more and more people want to relocate to this stunning city.
Families with school age children will be pleased to know that there are five schools within three miles of the city centre that are rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted, as well as 30 schools rated as “Good”. Those with “Outstanding” status include Bath College, St. Andrews Church School and Widcombe Infant School. Bath is also home to two major universities, the University of Bath and Bath Spa University.
Bath was founded by the Romans who used its natural hot spring as a thermal spa, and their influence can still be seen in the city today most notably at the Roman Baths. But you’ll also find that the city is awash with Georgian architecture too.
In addition to the stunning historical architecture, Bath is also home to a host of museums, art galleries, antique shops and theatres, giving it the well-deserved status of a thriving cultural hub. Its high streets are packed with everything you need for a day of shopping, all boasting striking buildings filled with quaint and trendy bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Nestled throughout the area are several breath-taking green spaces and parks including the 57 acre Royal Victoria Park, just a short walk from the city centre.
The city also has great transport links. Bristol is just 11 miles away and can be reached easily along the A4, whilst the M4 motorway is also around 11 miles away connecting Bath with the rest of the UK. Bath Spa station serves the city’s commuters, whilst Bristol Airport is around a 45-minute drive from Bath.
