James and Kieran moved into their new home three days before Christmas after only reserving the property three weeks earlier.
With their hearts set on being in a new home before Christmas Day, Wain Homes’ offer of a Part Exchange on James’ four-bedroom detached house in Colne, Lancashire meant they could rent out Kieran’s property in Winsford, Cheshire and buy their new Oxford housetype together at The Paddocks in Higher Bartle, near Preston.
James (34) said: “We were going through the process of buying another house but it fell through and wanting to move before Christmas meant we began looking for part-exchange offers.
“We came across The Paddocks and fell in love straight away with the Oxford show home. Luckily, there was another Oxford released for sale which we were also able to look around and it felt perfect for what we wanted.
“I had been initially sceptical of part-exchange, but there was no need; the offer we got from Wain Homes was around what we were hoping to achieve so we were delighted to proceed.
“We were told it would be the second week of January when we could move in but the Wain Homes team pulled out all the stops, meaning we got the keys three days before Christmas.”
James and Kieran (35) are now looking forward to exploring the area and have settled well in the new development.
“It is exciting to move to an area you don’t know too well, as it’s an adventure in finding new places to visit and things to see and do,” said Kieran.
“It’s close enough to Preston for all the amenities which a big city can provide, but it is also on the edge of lovely countryside to explore with Zoe, our miniature labradoodle. There’s also a new motorway junction being built not far from the development, which will make commuting to Manchester even quicker for us both.
“The house itself is ideal for our needs; there is a space that could be used as an office but we have turned this into a lovely snug and turned one of the spare rooms into an office.
