After living in the Midlands for more than 30 years, Patricia Hill decided to enjoy her retirement by moving closer to family and friends in Somerset.
However, finding a new-build property with a lounge to the rear of the house in her desired locations was proving problematic and she was resigned to compromising on her ideal layout.
Patricia explains: “I eventually settled on a new-build property from another developer in Nether Stowey near Bridgwater but felt rushed to complete and that’s when I came across Brue Reach, Wain Homes’ development in East Huntspill.
“Being two-and-a-half hours away, I asked a friend who lives in nearby Bridgewater to go and visit the development and take a video tour of the site.
“My friend’s feedback was that if I didn’t buy a new home here, I would be struggling to find any I would like which intrigued me and I decided to visit myself.
“I was immediately impressed by the quality and design of the Haversham show home but it was the three-bedroom Brancaster I really wanted to see, as that had the lounge to the rear with doors opening out onto the garden.
“Luckily, there was a Brancaster that was being prepared for another customer and Wain Homes’ sales adviser, Carol, was able to show me around and I got that unmistakeable feeling that this was the one.”
Patricia put down a deposit on the spot and began researching the village that would become her new home.
