You know you want to buy new, but how do you go about finding the right one for you? This guide is full of search inspiration and information, so you know what to look out for on your homebuying journey.

MAKE A WISH LIST

Every new home has something different to offer. And everyone’s priorities are different. That’s why it’s important to think about the things that matter to you most before you start your search.

Maybe you want your new home to have a light airy lounge and a large kitchen diner where all the family can get together. Or if your focus is more outside, a spacious garden or room for parking could be top of your wish list.

Here are some things to think about…

  • City-living or more rural?
  • Two or three storey living?
  • How many bedrooms?
  • What size garden?
  • What shops and amenities nearby?

DO ONLINE RESEARCH

Now you know what you want from your new home, it’s time to see what’s out there. Our website property search is a good place to start.

You can search by area, view different developments, see what house types are available and take a look inside.

SPEAK TO A SALES EXECUTIVE

Our Sales Executives know our homes inside out. If you want to know which are the sunniest rooms, or what energy saving features there are, they’re here to help. As well as giving you more detailed information about each home, they can arrange a tour of the development and showhome. It’s a good way to visualise if a home is right for you.

CONSIDER OUR BUYING SCHEMES

We have lots of different ways to help you buy. Our buying schemes are available on selected homes and could make it possible to upsize or downsize your way to an affordable new space.

MAKE A RESERVATION

You’ve found the place for you. What next? Make an appointment to confirm your reservation and we'll take you through everything. There’s some paperwork to complete and we’ll ask you for a reservation fee. Depending on how far we’ve got with building your new home, you could have the chance to personalise it and make it yours.

You could choose your kitchen cupboards and worktops, select from a range of upgrades, decide on carpet and hard flooring, pick out your bathroom tiles, and more. So the sooner you reserve, the more say you could have.

UNDERSTAND THE COSTS

It’s never too early to start planning for the costs of moving home. As well as your deposit and mortgage payments, you’ll need to consider the cost of stamp duty, solicitors fees, surveyors costs and removals. Our guide The cost of buying and moving can help you get your finances where they need to be.
